Our Mission Statement
At The Kintsugi Way, we create safe, nurturing spaces where women can rebuild their strength, rediscover their voices, and transform their pain into beauty—just as kintsugi mends broken pieces with gold. Together, we help women reclaim their sense of self and find hope in their journey toward empowerment.
The Kintsugi Way has three core objectives: healing, community, and advocacy.
The Charity’s prime objective is to support women who have experienced sexual trauma, gender-based violence and domestic abuse by fostering healing and resilience through art and community. We do this by offering a safe, supportive space to rebuild confidence, reduce isolation, and promote long-term emotional wellbeing whilst providing art therapy and healing practices, as well as talks, tools and resources to help women on their recovery journey.
TKW recognises that many survivors face ongoing barriers to healing, including stigma, lack of accessible care, financial hardship, and cultural disconnection. We aim to provide an inclusive, trauma-informed programme that meets these needs in a creative and empowering way.
Our advocacy objective focuses on the underlying issues that lead to violence against women and the resources and support that is required to protect women and enable and mobilise them to be safe. We do this by engaging in local and national policy debates and inquiries, as well as through research and on-going dialogue with programme participants about their needs.
